Sneak Peek: The Fragrant, Edible Garden

I'm buzzing about today, so don't have time to blog and flit about my favorite garden blogs.  I didn't want to leave you hanging, though and thought I'd drop in and leave a "sneak-peek" to a spectacular garden I just completed.  Well, at least it will be completed when the tomatoes are planted!

Redwood steps settle into a lawn of Agrostis pallens.  Native sod, how cool is that?!  It's already looking gracefully floppy.  More to come!

  1. It looks awesome! What a creative idea, I never would have thought to use redwood as 'pavers'. Brilliant!

  5. It looks great, but doesn't it get slippery?

  6. Thanks, everyone! While it looks like the steps could be slippery, they're sited in full sun, so slimy/mossy/slick surfaces are unlikely. I've hopped over them many times (mostly while it was raining) and haven't fallen yet! And I can be prone to that sort of thing, too...

  7. I agree with the others in really liking the redwood step idea. Will you be letting them age to a natural gray color or have they been finished to stay looking like this? Either way, they'll look great.

  8. We decided to let them age naturally, but they'd also look great oiled, too. I was there today and the grass seems to have grown 6"!
